Creepy Canyon ‘Cross is on the calendar for our 8th annual Grand Valley cyclocross series. Kick-Off your pre-Halloween celebrations October 25th, 2014 at Canyon View park with fast and fun bike racing paired up with a short and sweet 2 lap fun run before the festivities start!
Join MAD Racing for the darkest and creepiest night of cyclocross racing. Last year the A category had the opportunity to race in the dark, however this year, both the A and B categories will have the opportunity to race in the darkness, while the Citizens will ride from dusk into darkness. Bring your lights if you dare... Don’t forget to dress up in your best costume for a chance to win the best costume category!

Registration:
PRE-REGISTRATION ENTRY FEES: Registration online will close on Thursday 10/23 at midnight. Number pick-up closes 40 minutes prior to your event.
Fun Run: $10 ($5 if doing a CX race). ADULTS: $25. ADULTS 2nd Race: $10. JUNIORS 8/U: FREE, 8-18: $15.
RACE DAY ENTRY FEES: Race day registration opens at 1:30pm and closes 40 minutes prior to your event.
Fun Run: $10 ($5 if doing a CX race). ADULTS: $30. ADULTS 2nd Race: $15. JUNIORS 8/U: FREE, 8-18: $20.

Categories:
2 Lap Fun Run – 2 laps of running on the CX course (includes Male and Female, no sub-categories), max of 50 minutes.
MAD Kids Lap – 1 lap (Includes under 8, Male and Female sub-categories).
Citizen – 30 minute (Includes Citizen Men, Citizen Women, Juniors (Men & Women) 9-14 and 15-18 sub-categories).
A Race – 50 minutes (Includes Men A, Women A, and Master Men A 40+ sub-categories).
B Race – 40 minutes (Includes Men B, Women B, Master Men B 40+, Master Women B 40+ sub-categories).
Best Costume – Dress your outfit for a chance to win a prize and showcase your creativity!
Course:
Cyclocross courses are a mixture of dirt, pavement and grass, featuring obstacles and dismounts that require portaging the bike over the 1-2 mile course (kids lap = less than 1 mile). Participants will complete as many laps as possible during the time duration of each category.
The 2 Lap Fun Run is a new addition to this year's series as a way to attract the whole family to the races! These can also be a great way to preview the race on foot and warm up your lungs for the upcoming hard work during the cyclocross race! If you are doing another race on top of the Fun Run, you will get $5 off the $10 run entry fee and re-use your number and timing chip.
Directions:
From Denver: Drive west on I-70, take the 24 Road exit (Exit #28) and continue south. Canyon View Park will be on your left. Park in the northwest corner of the park.
From Utah: Drive east on I-70, take the 24 Road exit (Exit #28) and continue south. Canyon View Park will be on your left. Park in the northwest corner of the park.
For locals: Enter at the 24 Road main entrance, which is just north of the 24 Road and G Road intersection.

INCLEMENT WEATHER & REFUND POLICY: It's cross, the show goes on! Please check our Facebook page for updates on the race if the weather is looking wet!
Policy #1: Should a cycling race be canceled for any reason 14 days or less from the race date, we will extend an entry fee credit certificate to athletes enrolled in the canceled race to be used against the entry fee for any single MAD Racing event (within the state of Colorado) of choice conducted in the same year. A certificate will be issued in the amount of 50% of the original entry fee paid (processing fees do not apply). The certificate must be used within the same calendar year as it was issued and can be used for any discipline of racing (i.e. Road, Cross, etc). If the race is the last one of the year then the certificate can be used towards an event the following year. If a race is canceled more than 15 days out a full refund will be issued. (processing fees do not apply)
Policy #2: If a race has been rescheduled for the same calendar year (i.e. cyclo-cross season) then no refunds will be credited.
